Abstract : This study examined Saudi students' perceptions of using movies as a tool to improve English vocabulary skills and investigated the impact of this approach on their language proficiency. A total of 70 students from Qassim University completed a questionnaire assessing their views on incorporating movies for vocabulary learning. The questionnaire consisted of items rated on a 5-point Likert scale. Descriptive statistics and one-sample t-tests were utilized for data analysis. The findings revealed that students generally hold positive perceptions of movie-based learning and recognize its benefits. However, they also face certain challenges such as understanding complex dialogues and coping with unfamiliar vocabulary. Overall, when strategically integrated into the curriculum with appropriate support, movies show potential as an impactful supplement for bolstering vocabulary acquisition. The results provide useful insights for optimizing the use of movies in English language instruction.
